A couple days ago I finally had some time and was ready to take pictures and post a big post about all my recent projects... I was headed out the door wwith projects in hand to photograph and then I dropped my digital camera. DROPPED MY CAMERA!!!! And it's now broken. :(
So, I still have nothing to show. I'm so sad. It's not the greates camera (Kodak Easy Share from four years ago) but it worked pretty well and it's expensive enough that I can't afford to replace it for a while. It may be able to be fixed. Th problem is with the button that takes the pictures. It's sort of wonky and seems permanetly held down and out of place. The camera still turns on and does view finder and all, but the button to take the pictures isn't working. I'll have to wait until next month to be able to afford to take it somewhere to get looked at. I made a cursory attempt to snap it back into place, but thought better of it because I was worried I could damage it even more.

So I am sad about that.

As far as knitting goes, I haven't been doing too much lately. I made two fairisle bags. One I was planning to felt & attempted to felt it stovetop-style, but it wouldn't have it. It's lamb's pride, so I know it will felt in a washer. I just have to go over to my parents' house or something to find a washer I can play around with. I've never tried felting at a laundromat and our new apartment doesn't have hookups.

Other than that, I have been playing around, trying to figure out good presents for my secret pal and get inspired again. Our house is still not arranged from moving. We moved, I started my new job, and them we went out of town for a wedding, so this is my first chance to breathe in a long time.

I plan to do a ton of knitting in the next two weeks... my Travis is out of town visiting family, so I'll have lots of down time. I just bought the new VK today. I already hav ethe perfect yarn to make this:

It's burgundy Misti Alpaca Bulky weight. A very yummy (and very warm) affordable alpaca. It's a great substitute for Debbie Bliss chunky alpaca if you want a less pricy version that's still lusciously soft.

I found the most gorgeous colorway of Naturewolle. It's all pink. red, white candy colors... handspun and hand-dyed yarn from Germany. At 22.95 per 110 yd skein, however, I don't thing I'll be doing much with it soon. Maybe after I get paid (finally! but I have to wait until the end of September.) I might splurge and try one.

It was cold and rainy today, with spots of mugginess. It feels like fall is on its way and I think I need a nice new scarf. I have one that I need to finish up. A skinny scarf with different bits of yarn and this novelty railroad yarn that my husband's aunt gave me for X-mas last year. It doesn't strike me as being particularly warm.

I think that pink/red/white yarn would make a yummy scarf. I just wouldn't want to spend almost 50 bucks and get tired of it after a season. But maybe I'll love it forever, who knows...

More later, gonna stop typin' and start knittin'.

Comments:
That yarn sounds yummy and I like that pattern too. My, you have been busy lately! Hopefully things will loosen up for some knitting time!

Sorry to hear about your camera...I dropped mine too, once, and it wouldn't read the memory card after that. Luckily it happened while it was still covered for fixing/replacement--it certainly isn't anymore, so now I'm even more careful!
